Conducts Discussions on Digital Public Infrastructure with Thought Leaders

 

SVKM's NMIMS Indore organised the National Conference on Digital Infrastructure and Sustainable Development (DPISD-2024) in collaboration with the Indian Council of Social Science Research (ICSSR), Govt of India on March 15th and 16th, 2024. The two-day national conference witnessed insightful discussions on the topics of technology and sustainability.

 

The conference saw the presence of prominent leaders from academia. The Keynote speakers at the event were Dr. Ramendra Singh, Professor of Marketing, Indian Institute of Management, Kolkata, Dr. Manish Kumar, Distinguished Professor of Faculty of Excellence, Tecnologico de Monterrey, Mexico, Dr. Vinay Kandpal, Professor of Finance, Graphic Era and Dr. Pradyuman Chaturvedi, Associate Professor – Power Electronics, Visvesvaraya National Institute of Technology, Nagpur.

 

As attendees gathered with enthusiasm after the inaugural ceremony, the key speakers addressed significant aspects of public-private partnerships and highlighted the need for moving towards sustainable capacity-building initiatives. The speeches transcended theory as esteemed speakers threw light on the practical innovations in digitalisation. They shared their data governance and security expertise, thereby transforming the learning atmosphere. As the conference aimed to foster policy framework development, the importance of integrating DPI was well explained. Following the enlightening discussion, attendees engaged in networking during the break.

 

Meanwhile, students, academicians and industry professionals submitted their papers regarding important topics under digitisation and sustainability. The following segment of the conference saw some riveting paper presentations. The well-researched presentations shed light on circular economy and sustainable e-government services. Attendees and key speakers engaged in informative discussions through visual data representation, gaining knowledge on tax transparency and capacity-building.Papers were also presented on mobility solutions for smart cities and blockchain with digital currency which captured the attention of the audiences. Other presentations included insights into e-commerce and digital payments, sustainable supply chain management and promoting financial inclusion. Interesting presentations on cyber security and data protection law, disruptive technology, IoT and data analytics and artificial intelligence were also made. Thought-provoking discussions encouraged learning opportunities and the audience was thrilled to receive information on environmental sustainability and data privacy.

 

Dr. Anshuman Jaiswal, Director, NMIMS Indore, said, “The National Conference on Digital Infrastructure and Sustainable Development aimed to educate and empower the youth and succeeded in doing so. We are proud of the fact that the best paper awards in two of the session tracks were won by our students. The presentations have majorly contributed to understanding the recent trends in the ever-expanding world of digitisation. With innovative presentations and engrossing discussions, the conference has paved the way for the growth of sustainable enterprises in the near future.

The conference concluded with a valedictory session. Ending on an inspirational note, the conference proved to be an excellent platform for attendees to network, learn and exchange challenging ideas. In a nutshell, the national conference managed to nurture a generation of leaders with advanced knowledge in the area of digital infrastructure and sustainability.
